Malcolm Carmichael is an internationally acclaimed photographer who has been working in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Banff Alberta since 1977.
Ensuring your photo experience is fun and relaxing, Malcolm’s shooting ranges to cover both casual and photo journalistic style shots and formal and “glamorous” portraits. His extensive knowledge of the area also ensures capturing those magnificent scenic shots.

Malcolm has had over 20 years of experience working as a professional photographer and he was lucky enough to start his career “at the top” as the in house photographer for The Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise. Malcolm has a diverse knowledge of photography coverage and has photographed a wide variety of events including: New Product Launches, World Class Celebrity Galas, New Hotels and Restaurants for Brochure and Magazine Images, Bill Boards, many Conventions, hundreds of ski races and is still the chosen photographer for the Canadian National Ski Team.Having shot over 2,000 weddings Malcolm has worked with virtually all of the wedding service providers in the Bow Valley and at every location in Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, Moraine Lake, Kananaskis, Rafter Six and Nakoda Lodge.

Malcolm is a very popular photographer, perhaps because of his sensitive and relaxed manner or great sense of humor. He is noted for his flexibility, speed of service and excellent quality of photography. He is able to capture the mood of any celebration while being discreet and unobtrusive at the same time. Malcolm is a member of the Alberta and Canadian Professional Photographers Associations and is a registered member of the Cannon Professional Photographers Program and currently uses the Canon EOS 1 DS MK 111 considered to be the best in the world. For every professional engagement he is equipped with comparable backup systems to avoid disappointments or delay. |
Roger immediately headed for Banff after he graduated from the Photography Program at Langara College in Vancouver British Columbia. With over 20 years of photography experience, shooting hundreds of weddings, convention, ski races and family portraits, he is one of the most experienced Professional Photographers in the Bow Valley.
He began his career as the Photography Services Director/Photographer for the Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise and has an intimate knowledge of both properties, inside and out. He still enjoys an excellent working relationship with these hotels.
Roger specializes in a more natural and photojournalistic style of photography, but is very talented and also takes beautiful portraits. He is able to capture intimate moments with ease and his creative eye adds a special touch to his images.
A true mountain man who is happiest shooting outdoors and loves the challenge of our natural elements, Roger was the “Club Ski” photographer for many years, shooting hundreds of skiers in fun poses and action shots. As an expert skier himself, Roger’s knowledge of the Canadian Rocky Mountains is unbeatable.
Roger has translated his technical expertise in film into the digital realm and is a master of the most advanced and up to date systems His fun personality makes his clients feel relaxed and comfortable and is able to capture remarkable images they will treasure forever.

About Sharon:
Born in Cheshire England, Sharon arrived in Banff in 1992 and instantly fell in love with the Canadian Rocky Mountains and friendly Canadian people. “In my heart I know this is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life.”
Sharon graduated from the University of Derby with a B.A. Hons. Degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and now applies this knowledge to “running the business” at Peak Photography.
Sharon has over 10 years experience in the Wedding Industry and was the Wedding Planner for All Canada Travel & Holidays up until 2001. She is the current Wedding Planner for the Thomson/Crystal Holidays.
This knowledge and experience in the Wedding Industry is essential in assisting clients with their wedding photography requirements. Sharon has also created and manages the ‘self planning wedding web site’ BanffBride.com. A useful resource tool (linking to experienced suppliers in the Bow Valley), for couples looking to have fun planning their own wedding.
Sharon & Malcolm are the proud parents of three beautiful young daughters and live in a log home in the heart of Banff.
As long term residents of Banff, Sharon & Malcolm were honored to represent Banff and participate in the Travel Program “Wish You Were Here”. This British TV show was aired in January 2008.
